Administrative profiteering at the top of the University system

I am sharing this and Alex’s thoughts on it because they are spot on:

“So it’s good that our political talking heads are not ignoring the wild profiteering going on at the top end of the university system. But the thinly veiled threat here is the public funding for universities could be further cut using administrative bloat as a pretext with “the university” identified as the problem child rather than a specific class of parasites within it. So once again the costs of the neoliberal university are downloaded to the most vulnerable (that’s who funding cuts affect) while the minister is frank about the fact she cannot – or won’t – touch the most privileged and their buddies who make up the BOG at every institution. This is what “accountability” looks like under neoliberalism.”
